Culver City Car Show 2017
A Change of Venue
On Saturday, May 13th, the 14th Annual Culver City Car Show (formerly called Cruisin’ Back to the 50’s) was held, but not in downtown Culver City as in all previous years. Due to construction in Culver City the car show was relocated to the nearby Culver City Armory Park.
Due to this venue change it took a long time to get the cars parked, but on the positive side the venue was nice and well organized.
A Variety of Cars
The show is open to all rods, customs, classic & muscle cars, trucks, specialty vehicles, and motorcycles so there was definitely something there for everyone. In addition to approximately four hundred vehicles on display the car show enjoys the support of the Petersen Museum. As part of that support, they provided several rare cars for viewing. When was the last time you saw a Tucker at a car show?
Other Aspects of the Show
There is a judging aspect to this show, but there are no official classifications as part of the entry form. Awards are given in a wide variety of aspects, totally subjective, such as “best paint”, “best interior”, “best motor”, etc. and the judging is handled by qualified volunteer judges.
There were numerous exhibitors and vendors sprinkled throughout the show, as well as live music from a number of bands, all of which were really good.
The organizers ensured there would be a variety of quality food choices by bringing in many gourmet food trucks in addition to gourmet food vendors within the show itself.
Mark your calendar now for next years’ event, always scheduled for the second Saturday in May. In the mean time, enjoy the pictures!
